Basic Operations and Display Items Selecting Data You can select data (Voice, Style, etc.) by using the dial, category button or number input buttons. By using the dial Rotate the dial clockwise to increase the number, or counterclockwise to decrease the number. Decrease Increase Number Input mode On/Off (Only for Voices and Styles) To input numbers when selecting Voices or Styles, you need to turn on NUM LOCK to change the category buttons to the number input buttons. While holding down the [SHIFT] button, press the [POR- TABLE GRAND] button to enable the number input mode and turn on the indication in the display. NOTE In most procedures described throughout this manual, the dial is used for selecting items or changing values. Note however, that in most cases in which the dial can be used to change values, the number input buttons can also be used. Doing the same operation again exit from the number input mode and turns off the indication. NOTE The number input mode cannot be used when selecting Song, Audio, or Groove. By selecting a category (only for Voices and Styles) The category names for Voices are in the upper row, and category names for Styles are in the lower row. Pressing the same category button repeatedly selects the successive Voices or Styles in the category in order. Voice category Style category By inputting the number directly Input the number directly pressing the number input buttons by referring to the Data List on the website (page 11). You can also use the [+], [−] buttons to increase or decrease the number. Numbers [+], [−] buttons NOTE • To select a Voice or Style by this method, you need to turn on NUM LOCK. For details, see "Number Input On/ Off" at the right column. • Holding down the [+] or [−] button can continuously increase or decrease the number in the corresponding direction.
