CHAPTER 11 MAC Filter 11.1 Overview This chapter discusses MAC address filtering. The MAC filter screen allows you to configure the ZyXEL Device to give exclusive access to up to 32 wireless clients (Allow) based on the MAC address of the wireless clients. This applies to wired and wireless connections. 11.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter Use the MAC Filter screen (Section 11.2 on page 170) to allow wireless clients access to the ZyXEL Device. 11.1.2 What You Need to Know Every Ethernet device has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. The MAC address is assigned at the factory and consists of six pairs of hexadecimal characters, for example, 00:A0:C5:00:00:02. You need to know the MAC address of the devices to configure this screen. FSG2200HNU User's Guide 169
