Chapter 20 Classifier Table 45 Advanced Application > Classifier (continued) LABEL DESCRIPTION Packet Format Specify the format of the packet. Choices are All, 802.3 tagged, 802.3 untagged, Ethernet II tagged and Ethernet II untagged. A value of 802.3 indicates that the packets are formatted according to the IEEE 802.3 standards. Layer 2 A value of Ethernet II indicates that the packets are formatted according to RFC 894, Ethernet II encapsulation. Specify the fields below to configure a layer 2 classifier. VLAN Select Any to classify traffic from any VLAN or select the second option and specify the source VLAN ID in the field provided. When VLAN mapping is enabled, this is the translated VLAN ID you set in the VLAN Mapping Configure screen If the incoming traffic is tagged and matches a VLAN mapping rule. Priority Select Any to classify traffic from any priority level or select the second option and specify a priority level in the field provided. Ethernet Select an Ethernet type or select Other and enter the Ethernet type number in Type hexadecimal value. Refer to Table 47 on page 181 for information. Source MAC Address Select Any to apply the rule to all MAC addresses. To specify a source, select the second choice and type a MAC address in valid MAC address format (six hexadecimal character pairs). Port Type the port number to which the rule should be applied. You may choose one port only or all ports (Any). Destination MAC Address Select Any to apply the rule to all MAC addresses. To specify a destination, select the second choice and type a MAC address in valid MAC address format (six hexadecimal character pairs). Layer 3 Specify the fields below to configure a layer 3 classifier. DSCP Select Any to classify traffic from any DSCP or select the second option and specify a DSCP (DiffServ Code Point) number between 0 and 63 in the field provided. IP Select an IP protocol type or select Other and enter the protocol number in Protocol decimal value. Refer to Table 48 on page 182 for more information. Source You may select Establish Only for TCP protocol type. This means that the Switch will pick out the packets that are sent to establish TCP connections. MES-3728 User's Guide 179

All
,
802.3 tagged
,
802.3
untagged
,
Ethernet II tagged
and
Ethernet II untagged
.
A value of
802.3
indicates that the packets are formatted according to the
IEEE 802.3 standards.
A value of
Ethernet II
indicates that the packets are formatted according to
RFC 894, Ethernet II encapsulation.
Layer 2
Specify the fields below to configure a layer 2 classifier.
VLAN
Select
Any
to classify traffic from any VLAN or select the second option and
specify the source VLAN ID in the field provided.
When VLAN mapping is enabled, this is the translated VLAN ID you set in the
VLAN Mapping Configure
screen If the incoming traffic is tagged and
matches a VLAN mapping rule.
Priority
Select
Any
to classify traffic from any priority level or select the second option
and specify a priority level in the field provided.
Ethernet
Type
Select an Ethernet type or select
Other
and enter the Ethernet type number in
hexadecimal value. Refer to
Table 47 on page 181
for information.
Source
MAC
Address
Select
Any
to apply the rule to all MAC addresses.
To specify a source, select the second choice and type a MAC address in valid
MAC address format (six hexadecimal character pairs).
Port
Type the port number to which the rule should be applied. You may choose one
port only or all ports (
Any
).
Destination
MAC
Address
Select
Any
to apply the rule to all MAC addresses.
To specify a destination, select the second choice and type a MAC address in
valid MAC address format (six hexadecimal character pairs).
Layer 3
Specify the fields below to configure a layer 3 classifier.
DSCP
Select
Any
to classify traffic from any DSCP or select the second option and
specify a DSCP (DiffServ Code Point) number between 0 and 63 in the field
provided.
IP
Protocol
Select an IP protocol type or select
Other
and enter the protocol number in
decimal value. Refer to
Table 48 on page 182
for more information.
You may select
Establish Only
for
TCP
protocol type. This means that the
Switch will pick out the packets that are sent to establish TCP connections.
