CHAPTER 16 Static Route 16.1 Overview This chapter shows you how to configure static routes for your NBG5715. Each remote node specifies only the network to which the gateway is directly connected, and the NBG5715 has no knowledge of the networks beyond. For instance, the NBG5715 knows about network N2 in the following figure through remote node Router 1. However, the NBG5715 is unable to route a packet to network N3 because it doesn't know that there is a route through the same remote node Router 1 (via gateway Router 2). The static routes are for you to tell the NBG5715 about the networks beyond the remote nodes.
