Chapter 12 LAN Figure 55 LAN and WAN IP Addresses The LAN parameters of the NBG5715 are preset in the factory with the following values: • IP address of 192.168.1.1 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (24 bits) • DHCP server enabled with 32 client IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.33. These parameters should work for the majority of installations. If your ISP gives you explicit DNS server address(es), read the embedded Web Configurator help regarding what fields need to be configured. 12.3.1 IP Pool Setup The NBG5715 is pre-configured with a pool of 32 IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.33 to 192.168.1.64. This configuration leaves 31 IP addresses (excluding the NBG5715 itself) in the lower range (192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.32) for other server computers, for instance, servers for mail, FTP, TFTP, web, etc., that you may have. 12.3.2 LAN TCP/IP The NBG5715 has built-in DHCP server capability that assigns IP addresses and DNS servers to systems that support DHCP client capability. 12.4 The LAN IP Screen Use this screen to change the IP address for your NBG5715. Figure 55
LAN and WAN IP Addresses
The LAN parameters of the NBG5715 are preset in the factory with the following values:
IP address of 192.168.1.1 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (24 bits)
DHCP server enabled with 32 client IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.33.
These parameters should work for the majority of installations. If your ISP gives you explicit DNS
server address(es), read the embedded Web Configurator help regarding what fields need to be
configured.
12.3.1
IP Pool Setup
The NBG5715 is pre-configured with a pool of 32 IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.33 to
192.168.1.64. This configuration leaves 31 IP addresses (excluding the NBG5715 itself) in the
lower range (192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.32) for other server computers, for instance, servers for
mail, FTP, TFTP, web, etc., that you may have.
12.3.2
LAN TCP/IP
The NBG5715 has built-in DHCP server capability that assigns IP addresses and DNS servers to
systems that support DHCP client capability.
