Front Panel Switches A/O Determines if the modem is in originate mode or answer mode when the modem is on-line. D/V Toggles the modem on-line (off-hook, DATA mode) or offline (on-hook, VOICE mode, the telephone set is connected to the line). Rear Panel Markings The U-336E rear panel is shown below: Figure 2-2 Rear Panel The following explains the connectors and switch on the rear panel. • POWER Power switch, turns the modem ON or OFF. • POWER JACK Input terminal for power adapter. • LINE Dial-up line RJ-11 terminal jack, for connection to a 2-wire dial-up or 2-wire leased line. • PHONE RJ-11 terminal jack, for connection to a telephone set.
