282 Maintenance OPENING AND CLOSING THE HOOD 1. Inside the vehicle, pull the hood release handle located under the instrument panel. 2. Go to the front of the vehicle. 3. Raise the hood slightly and release the secondary latch located under the front center of the hood. 4. Raise the hood and support it with the prop rod. 5. Lower and secure the prop rod in the clip. 6. Lower the hood and allow it to drop the last 8 to 11 inches (20 to 30 centimeters).
