Using the corded base: 9.6 Switching the TAM On/Off When the TAM is switched on, the TAM ON/OFF indicator will be turned on, and it will flash if there are new messages recorded. If the TAM is turned off, the TAM ON/OFF indicator will be off unless there are new messages. 9.6.1 Using the Direct Key 1. From idle mode, press to switch TAM on or off. 9.6.2 Using the Menu 1. Press and to select ANS. MACHINE. 2. Press and to go to TAM ON/OFF and press to select. 3. Press to select between ON and OFF then to select. 9.7 Outgoing Message Settings 9.7.1 Record your Outgoing Message (OGM) You can record your own OGM for ANS & REC mode or ANSWER ONLY mode. When you record your own OGM, it will be used when the answering machine answers the call. If your personal OGM is deleted, the preset OGM will be restored automatically. 9.7.1.1 Using the direct key 1. Make sure the TAM is set to the answer mode required, ANS & REC or ANSWER ONLY. (see section 9.8) 2. Press and hold until you hear a beep and RECORDING appears on the Base display. Then speak clearly from about 30cm (12 inches) away from the base to record your personal OGM. 3. When you want to end the recording, press the button. The base will playback your new personal outgoing message and display PLAYING OGM. Note: Press at any time during recording or playback to erase your personal OGM and return to the preset OGM. 56

When the TAM is switched on, the TAM ON/OFF indicator will be turned on,
