Routine Maintenance Replacing the Cartridge When prints can no longer be made as toner runs out completely, a screen showing how to replace the cartridge, like the one shown below, appears on the touch panel display. Follow the instructions shown on the screen. 6 If you press [Recover Later], you can continue operations, such as setting modes and scanning originals, without replacing the cartridge immediately. WARNING • Do not burn or throw used cartridges into open flames, as this may cause the toner remaining inside the cartridges to ignite, resulting in burns or a fire. • Do not store cartridges in places exposed to open flames, as this may cause the toner to ignite, resulting in burns or a fire. • When discarding used cartridges, put the cartridges in a bag to prevent the toner remaining inside the cartridges from scattering, and dispose of them in a location away from open flames. If toner gets onto your hands or clothing, wash it off immediately with cold water.
