2 Installing the Software Navigating CLI Modes The FTOS prompt changes to indicate the CLI mode. You must move linearly through the command modes, with the exception of the end command which takes you directly to EXEC Privilege mode; the exit command moves you up one command mode level. Console Access RPM Ports and Cables There are three ports on the RPM: the Console port, the Auxiliary port, and the 10/100 Ethernet port. This chapter includes information to connect to the system using the console port. For information about connecting with the other ports, refer to your system's Installation Guide. Connecting the Console NOTE: Before starting this procedure, be sure you have a terminal emulation program already installed on your PC. Step Task 1 Install an RJ-45 copper cable into the console port. Navigating CLI Modes
