2 System Overview The S50V and S50N models of the Dell Force10 S-Series are stackable, Layer 2 switch/Layer 3 routers with 48 built-in 10/100/1000 Base-T ports, four SFP ports, and up to four optional 10-Gigabit (10GbE) ports (XFP or CX4), in two expansion slots. Figure 2-1 shows the front panel of the S50V. The S50N has the same layout; just the catalog number differs. The S50N-DC (see Figure 3-1 on page 15) differs only in that DC1 and DC2 status LEDs appear where the AC and DC status LEDs are on the S50V and S50N. Figure 2-1.
