CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer). CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Removing the Battery) before working inside the computer. Removing the VGA Connector Board 1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin. 2. Remove the battery (see Removing the Battery). 3. Remove the base cover (see Removing the Base Cover). 4. Remove memory module(s) (see Removing the Memory Module(s)). 5. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive). 6. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard). 7. Remove the palm rest (see Removing the Palm Rest). 8. Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly). 9. Remove the middle cover (see Removing the Middle Cover). 10. Disconnect the VGA connector board cable from the connector on the system board and remove it from the routing guide. 11. Remove the VGA connector board from the tab on the computer base. 12. Lift the VGA connector board along with the cable off the computer base. 1 VGA connector board 2 tab

Removing the VGA Connector Board

Follow the instructions in
Before You Begin
.
2.
Remove the battery (see
Removing the Battery
).
3.
Remove the base cover (see
Removing the Base Cover
).
4.
Remove memory module(s) (see
Removing the Memory Module(s)
).
5.
Remove the optical drive (see
Removing the Optical Drive
).
6.
Remove the keyboard (see

).
7.
Remove the palm rest (see

8.
Remove the display assembly (see

9.
Remove the middle cover (see

10.
Disconnect the VGA connector board cable from the connector on the system board and remove it from the routing guide.
11.
Remove the VGA connector board from the tab on the computer base.
12.
Lift the VGA connector board along with the cable off the computer base.
