Here it is assumed that there are four task based workers (web browsing, simple word processing, simple spreadsheet manipulation, small video windows) that are to share one 100 Mbps switch. Due to the nature of the task workers usage, they do not require heavy graphics changes and would each likely require peak network demand at different times. Figure 77 shows simplified bandwidth requirements for each user assuming each had a full 100 Mbps available. Here it can be seen that network demand only peaks for short periods (e.g. when opening/closing windows, scrolling a page, etc.). The PC-over-IP system adapts quickly to available network bandwidth, so it is strongly recommended to keep to the system defaults. 4.3 Bandwidth and Image Configuration Example
This example outlines optimizing user experiences for a constrained bandwidth
situation.
Here it is assumed that there are four task based workers (web browsing,
simple word processing, simple spreadsheet manipulation, small video windows) that
are to share one 100 Mbps switch.
Due to the nature of the task workers usage, they do not require heavy graphics
changes and would each likely require peak network demand at different times.
Figure 77 shows simplified bandwidth requirements for each user assuming each
had a full 100 Mbps available.
Here it can be seen that network demand only peaks
for short periods (e.g. when opening/closing windows, scrolling a page, etc.).
The PC-over-IP system adapts quickly to available network bandwidth, so it is
strongly recommended to keep to the system defaults. However, the following
examples show how to adapt the default settings if your configuration requires it.
