6 Configure your printer Learn how to configure your printer using the embedded web server (EWS). NOTE: The EWS is only available for network printers. You can use EWS to manage printer functions and settings from your computer or mobile device. ● View printer status information ● Check the information and status of the printing supplies ● Receive notification of printer and supplies events ● View and change the network and the printer settings Access and use the EWS You can open the EWS using one of the following: ● HP Smart app ● HP printer software (Windows) ● Web browser using IP address ● Web browser using Wi-Fi Direct connection Take note of the following before you begin. ● If the web browser displays a message indicating that the website is unsafe, select the option to continue. Accessing the website will not harm your device. ● The default username is "admin". ● For your security, some settings in the printer home page or EWS are password-protected. - When accessing EWS for the first time, enter the PIN if prompted. This personal identification number (PIN) is available from the PIN label in the printer. - Open the front door and cartridge access door to locate the PIN label. - Once you have access to EWS, you can change the password from EWS. ● Depending on how the printer is connected, some features in EWS might not be available. ● EWS is not accessible beyond the network firewall. Learn how to configure your printer using the embedded web server (EWS).

You can use EWS to manage printer functions and settings from your computer or mobile device.
View printer status information
Check the information and status of the printing supplies
Receive notification of printer and supplies events
View and change the network and the printer settings
Access and use the EWS
You can open the EWS using one of the following:
HP Smart app
HP printer software (Windows)
Web browser using IP address
Web browser using Wi-Fi Direct connection
Take note of the following before you begin.
If the web browser displays a message indicating that the website is unsafe, select the option to continue.
Accessing the website will not harm your device.
The default username is “admin”.
