● Clean cartridges: If your prints are streaked or have incorrect or missing colors, the cartridges might need to be cleaned. NOTE: ● The cleaning process prints one page to attempt to clean the cartridges. ● Clean the cartridges only when necessary. Unnecessary cleaning wastes ink and shortens the life of the cartridges. ● If print quality problems persist, contact HP. The embedded web server (EWS) Follow these steps to align or clean the cartridges. 1. Open the EWS. See Access and use the EWS. 2. Click the Tools tab. 3. From the left menu, click Utilities, and select Print Quality Toolbox. 4. Click the button next to the option to align or clean cartridges, and then follow the onscreen instructions. HP printer software (Windows) Follow these steps to align or clean the cartridges. 1. Load Letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray. 2. From the Windows Start menu, open the HP printer software. Click Print & Scan at the top of the window. 3. In the Print section, click Maintain Your Printer to access the Toolbox. 4. In the Toolbox, click the Device Services tab, click the desired option, and then follow the onscreen instructions. Copy and scan issues Troubleshoot copy and scan issues. ● See Tips for successful scanning and copying. ● Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to help diagnose and fix issues automatically. ● If one or more Copy buttons do not light up or appear not to be responding or working, try one or more of the following.
