Battery Description 2-cell, 32-Wh, 4.2-Ah, Li-ion battery for use in all models 3-cell, 48-Wh, 4.21-Ah, Li-ion battery for use in HP x360 310 G2 models Spare part number 796355-005 817184-005 Before removing the battery, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 31). Remove the battery: WARNING! To reduce potential safety issues, use only the battery provided with the computer, a replacement battery provided by HP, or a compatible battery purchased from HP. 1. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (1). 2. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board (2), lift the tape that secures the cable to the battery (3), and remove the cable from atop the battery (4) 3. Disconnect the USB/card reader board cable from the system board (5) and the USB/card reader board (6), and then (if replacing the battery) remove the cable from atop the battery (7). NOTE: If replacing the battery, be sure to attach the flat USB/card reader cable to the top of the new battery. 4. Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that secure the battery to the computer. Component replacement procedures 55
