Signing up with an ISP using Easy Internet Sign-up Easy Internet Sign-up helps you sign up for a new Internet account, set up an existing account, or configure Internet access using a LAN (local area network), cable modem, or DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). 1 Connect the telephone service line to your modem by using the modem cable. Refer to the setup poster and to "Setting Up the Modem" on page 44. Note: If you decide to use a DSL or a cable Internet connection, contact your ISP for any specific software and hardware you may need. 2 Open Easy Internet Sign-up: ■ Double-click the easy Internet sign-up icon on the desktop. Connecting to the Internet A Web browser program searches for, finds, and displays Web site information. How you access and explore the Internet depends on whether you are using an ISP that provides the browser or an ISP that allows you to use any browser. Signing up with an ISP
using Easy Internet Sign-up
Easy Internet Sign-up helps you sign up for
a new Internet account, set up an existing
account, or configure Internet access using a
LAN (local area network), cable modem, or
DSL (Digital Subscriber Line).

Connect the telephone service line to your
modem by using the modem cable. Refer

If you decide to use a DSL or a cable Internet

Connecting to the Internet
A Web browser program searches for, finds, and
displays Web site information. How you access
and explore the Internet depends on whether you
are using an ISP that provides the browser or an
ISP that allows you to use any browser.
Using ISP-provided browser
If you have signed up for an ISP that provides
the browser, you can open the browser program
and connect to the Internet by using either of the
