Battery Description 4-cell, 41-Wh (2.8-Ah) Li-on battery Spare part number 635146-001 Before removing the battery, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. Remove the battery: 1. Position the computer upside down on a flat surface with the front toward you. 2. Slide the battery cover release latch (1), and then rotate the edge (2) of the cover upward until the tabs on the opposite edge disengage from the chassis. 3. Remove the cover (3). 4. Slide the battery lock latch (1) inward. The latch opening is marked red to indicate that the latch is unlocked. 5. Slide the battery release latch (2) inward and hold it in place as you rotate the edge of the battery (3) upward. 36 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
Remove the battery:
1.
Position the computer upside down on a flat surface with the front toward you.
2.
Slide the battery cover release latch

of the cover upward until
the tabs on the opposite edge disengage from the chassis.

Remove the cover

Slide the battery lock latch

inward. The latch opening is marked red to indicate that the latch
is unlocked.

inward and hold it in place as you rotate the edge of the
