• The Server Application Optimization license (introduced with Fabric OS 6.2) when deployed with server adapters, optimizes overall application performance for physical servers and virtual machines by extending virtual channels to the server infrastructure. Application specific traffic flows can be configured, prioritized, and optimized throughout the data center infrastructure. Included licensed software The Enhanced Group Management license is included with all HP 8Gb switches. Enhanced Group Management enables full management of the device in a datacenter fabric with deeper element management functionality and greater management task aggregation throughout the environment. This license is used in conjunction with Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) application software. Temporary license support Temporary licenses are not currently supported by HP. Previously licensed software now part of base Fabric OS The following capabilities are included as part of the base Fabric OS and no additional purchase or licensing is necessary. NOTE: Advanced Zoning and Web Tools licenses are no longer necessary, beginning with Fabric OS 6.1. These features are automatically enabled on all products running Fabric OS 6.1 or later Standards compliance This software conforms to the Fibre Channel standards and to accepted engineering practices and procedures. Update recommendations NOTE: With the introduction of Fabric OS 6.1.1, certain features and functions were removed from Web Tools (resident in the firmware) and migrated to the Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) management application. HP recommends that, before you upgrade to Fabric OS 6.1.1x or later, if DCFM is not running on your fabric, you review the Web Tools functionality moved to DCFM, page 30 in these release notes and take note of what has changed so you can assess the impact on your fabric. All products supported by Fabric OS 6.0.x can be upgraded to Fabric OS 6.2.0g. If applicable, HP recommends that you upgrade to Fabric OS 6.2.0g as soon as possible to take advantage of the latest fixes and features. See Firmware upgrades and downgrades for more information. Tools (resident in the firmware) and migrated to the Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) management
application. HP recommends that, before you upgrade to Fabric OS 6.1.1x or later, if DCFM is not
running on your fabric, you review the
Web Tools functionality moved to DCFM
, page 30 in these
release notes and take note of what has changed so you can assess the impact on your fabric.
