Installing and Removing an Intel® Compute Module Installing an Intel® Compute Module To install an Intel® Compute Module, follow these steps: 1. Review the safety and ESD information at the beginning of this manual and in the appendices. 2. If you have not done so already, install any necessary options, such as processor and memory, in the compute module. Note: The top cover is a required component of the compute module assembly. Do not attempt to insert a compute module into the chassis without ensuring an installed top cover is in place. 3. Make sure the release handles on the compute module are in the open position (see letter "A" in Figure 39). Installing an Intel® Compute Module
To install an Intel
®
Compute Module, follow these steps:
1.
Review the safety and ESD information at the beginning of this manual and in the
appendices.
2.
If you have not done so already, install any necessary options, such as processor and
memory, in the compute module.
Note:
The top cover is a required component of the compute module assembly. Do
not attempt to insert a compute module into the chassis without ensuring an
installed top cover is in place.
3.
Make sure the release handles on the compute module are in the open position (see
letter “A” in
Figure 39
). Insert the compute module into an open slot in the chassis
and slide it in until it stops (see letter “B” in
Figure 39
).

Close the release handles on the front of the compute module.
