Repacking the Printer If you need to ship the printer, pack it as follows: 1. Remove the paper from the paper tray. 2. Open the top cover. Then remove the ribbon cartridge. Discard the ribbon, or store it in its original box. Put the ink carrier in its original packing. 3. Close the top cover. 4. Attach the shipping inserts on both sides of the paper tray inserting slot. 5. Put the 8500 printer in its original plastic sheet to keep it clean during shipping. 6. Pack the printer in its original box. 7. Replace the top foam cap.
