Using an unsupported line The fax modem in your AIO is an analog device and cannot be used on an ISDN, DSL, or PBX digital phone service. However, you can connect certain devices to your AIO that let you use the fax function in addition to these digital phone services. To connect without an unsupported line: Connect an active telephone cable from the AIO to the telephone wall jack. To connect with an unsupported line: • If you use an ISDN phone service, you can connect to an analog telephone port (an R-interface port) on an ISDN terminal adapter. For more help and to request an R-interface port, contact the ISDN provider. • If you use a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) phone service, you can connect to a DSL filter or router that will allow for some analog (rather than digital) use. • If you use a PBX phone service, you can install an analog phone line for a fax machine. 106

Using an unsupported line
The fax modem in your AIO is an analog device and cannot be used on an
ISDN, DSL, or PBX digital phone service. However, you can connect
certain devices to your AIO that let you use the fax function in addition to

To connect without an unsupported line:
