Using MFP menus Menu item NPA Mode USB Buffer Mac Binary PS ENA Address ENA Netmask ENA Gateway Purpose Values and descriptions Specifies whether the MFP performs the special processing required for bidirectional communication, following the conventions defined in the Network Printing Alliance (NPA) Protocol. Note: Changing this menu item automatically resets the MFP once the menus are exited. It is reset to configure memory, and any permanent resources, such as fonts or macros, are lost. On Off Auto* The MFP performs NPA processing. If data is not in NPA format, it is rejected as bad data. The MFP does not perform NPA processing. The MFP examines the data to determine the format and then processes it appropriately. Configures the size of the USB input buffer. Note: Changing the USB Buffer menu item automatically resets the MFP. Any permanent resources, such as fonts or macros, are lost. Auto* 3KB to maximum size allowed (1KB increments) The MFP automatically calculates the USB Buffer size (recommended setting). The user specifies the USB Buffer size. The maximum size depends on the amount of memory in the MFP, the size of the other link buffers, and whether Resource Save is set to On or Off. To maximize the range for the USB Buffer size, disable or reduce the size of the parallel, serial, and network buffers. Configures the MFP to process On Macintosh binary PostScript print jobs.
