Using MFP menus Fax Send Settings Menu item Resolution Original Size Content Darkness Purpose Values and descriptions Defines quality in dots per inch (dpi). A higher resolution gives greater print quality, but it increases the fax transmission time for outgoing faxes. Standard* Fine Super Fine Ultra Fine Standard is 100 x 100 dpi. Fine is 200 x 200 dpi. Super Fine is 300 x 300 dpi. Ultra Fine is 400 x 400 dpi. Provides a list of possible scanner sizes to select from to specify the size of the original copy document. Letter (8.5 x 11 in.)* Executive (7.25 x 10.5 in.) Legal (8.5 x 14 in.) A4 (210 x 297 mm)* A5 (148 x 210 mm) JIS B5 (182 x 257 mm) Folio (8.5 x 13 in.) Statement (5.5 x 8.5 in.) Mixed Letter/Legal (* Denotes a country/region-specific factory default value.) 8.5 in. supports Mixed Letter/Legal. Specifies the type of content contained Text* in the fax job. The fax job contains mostly text or line art. Text/Photo The fax job contains a mixture of text and images. Photograph The fax job contains only images. Specifies the level of darkness for the 1-9 (5*) fax job. A graphic representation depicts the values. As the right or left scroll button is touched, the asterisk moves back and forth on the line. 1 is next to the - and 9 is next to the +. As shown, 5 is the current value. - + Dial Prefix Automatic Redial Redial Frequency Behind a PABX A numeric entry field is provided to enter numbers. The previously entered numbers are shown. The dial prefix could be a country code or a code businesses use to dial an outside line. Number string Specifies the number of times the MFP automatically tries to send the fax job again by resubmitting the Fax To number. 0-9 (5*) Select a range in minutes for the 1-200 (3*) number of redials to occur in that time span. Enables or disables switchboard blind On dialing without a dial tone. Off* The entry field is limited to 16 characters. Text entry characters are limited to: 0-9 and a space. Do not wait for a dial tone. Wait for a dial tone. Settings 54
