Never try to synchronize more than one mobile computer to the same name. 10. Connect the device to the host computer. See Figure 2-1 on page 2-3 to set up a Single Slot Serial/USB cradle, or see Figure 2-19 on page 2-19 for cable connections. NOTE The cradle requires a dedicated port. It cannot share a port with an internal modem or other device. Refer to the host computer documentation to locate the serial port(s). 11. Upon connection, synchronization occurs automatically. USB Connection Setup The USB communication setup is used to set up to communicate between the host and the mobile computer using either a Single Slot Serial/USB cradle or using one of the serial MC3000 Communication/Charge cables. NOTE For serial communication using the Single Slot Serial/USB cradle, connect only the USB cable, do not connect both the USB cable and the serial cable. If both serial and USB communication cables are required, the host computer USB port is the default setting in ActiveSync. 1.
