Application Deployment for WinCE 5.0 4 - 5 Installing Other Development Software Developing applications for the mobile computer may require installing other development software, such as application development environments, on the development PC. Follow the installation instructions provided with the software. Software Updates Download updates to the EMDK for C from the Support Central web site at: http://www.motorola.com/enterprisemobility/support. Check this site periodically for important updates and new software versions. Deployment With the appropriate accessory, software, and connection, the mobile computer can share information with the host computer. This chapter provides information about installing software and files on the mobile computer. Download/software installations can be performed using: • ActiveSync • Initial Program Loader (IPL) • Mobility Services Platform (MSP) • SD card. ActiveSync Use ActiveSync to copy files and/or programs from a host computer to the mobile computer. Copying Files 1. Ensure that ActiveSync is installed on the host computer and that a partnership was created. For more information see, Chapter 3, ActiveSync. 2. Connect the mobile computer to the host computer using a Single Slot Serial/USB cradle or an appropriate cable. See, Chapter 2, Accessories for connection information. 3. On the host computer, select Start > Programs > ActiveSync.
