CLOSE-UP PROGRAM 125 F5.6 BJDD r .. LU In close-up photography, various effects can be achieved with different f/stops. A very small aperture increases depth of field and enhances overall apparent sharpness. A wider aperture decreases depth of field and makes the focused subject stand out from the surrounding area (foreground and background) which will appear less sharp due to the shallow depth of field. This program selects aperture settings between f/4 and f/ 5.6, providing a rather shallow depth of field. The result is a sharply focused subject against a blurred background and foreground . 84
