The Setup Menu Motion Detection Press the d button M z tab (A11) M Motion detection Enable motion detection to reduce the effects of camera shake and subject movement when shooting still pictures. Option Description If the camera detects the movement of the subject or camera shake, the ISO sensitivity is raised and the shutter speed is increased to reduce their effects. However, motion detection does not function in the following situations. • When the flash fires • When ISO sensitivity is set to other than Auto • When AF area mode is set to Subject tracking • In the following scene modes: U Auto (default setting) - j (Night landscape) - W (Backlighting) - Sports - Night portrait - Dusk/dawn - Museum - Fireworks show - Easy panorama - Pet portrait - 3D photography • In C (continuous) shooting mode k Off Motion detection is not enabled. When Auto is selected, an icon for this setting is displayed on the monitor (A6). The motion detection icon lights in green when the camera detects any vibration and increases the shutter speed.
