Smart Portrait Mode (Shooting Smiling Faces) C Releasing the Shutter Manually The shutter can also be released by pressing the shutter-release button. If no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame. The extent of effect applied E41 can be selected. The default setting is Normal. When set to On (default setting), the camera detects human faces and then automatically releases the shutter whenever a E41 smile is detected. Self-timer cannot be used with this feature. When On is selected, the camera automatically releases the shutter twice each time a picture is taken. Of the two shots, one in which the subject's eyes are open is saved.
