Shooting Features Features That Can Be Set Using the Multi Selector C Flash Mode Setting • The setting varies with shooting mode. See "Available Functions" (A59) and "List of the Default Settings" (A69) for more information. • This feature may not be used in combination with certain features. See "Features That Cannot Be Used Simultaneously" (A73). • For A (auto) mode, the changed flash mode setting is saved in the camera's memory even after the camera is turned off. C Auto with Red-eye Reduction This camera uses advanced red-eye reduction ("In-Camera Red-Eye Fix"). If the camera detects red eye when a picture is taken, the affected area is processed to reduce redeye before the image is recorded. Note the following when taking pictures: • The time required to save the picture increases slightly. • Advanced red-eye reduction may not produce the desired results in some situations. • In extremely rare instances, areas not subject to red-eye may be affected by advanced red-eye reduction processing. In these cases, choose another mode and try again. 62
