Step 3 Frame a Picture 1 Ready the camera. • Keep fingers, hair and other objects away from the lens, flash, AF assist-illuminator and microphone. Flash (A60) • When using the flash while taking pictures in portrait ("tall") orientation, turn the camera so that the flash is above the lens. The Basics of Shooting and Playback 2 Frame the picture. • When the camera detects a human face, that face is framed by a yellow double border (focus area) (default setting). • When the camera detects more than one face, the face closest to the camera is framed by a double border and the others by single borders. 29m 0s 1140 • When taking pictures of non-human subjects or when no faces are detected, the focus area is not displayed. Position the main subject near the center of the frame. C ISO Sensitivity E (ISO sensitivity, A6) may be displayed on the shooting screen. When E is displayed, the ISO sensitivity is automatically raised. C Using a Tripod • In the following situations, use of a tripod is recommended to avoid the effects of camera shake: - When shooting in a dark location or with the flash mode (A61) set to W (off) - When shooting in the telephoto zoom position • To take a picture with the camera attached to a tripod, set Vibration reduction in the setup 26 menu (A100) to Off.
