d13: MB-D11 Battery Type G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu To ensure that the camera functions as expected when the optional MB-D11 battery pack is used with AA batteries, match the option selected in this menu to the type of batteries inserted in the battery pack. There is no need to adjust this option when using EN-EL15 batteries. Option 1 LR6 (AA alkaline) 2 HR6 (AA Ni-MH) 3 FR6 (AA lithium) Description Select when using LR6 alkaline AA batteries. Select when using HR6 Ni-MH AA batteries. Select when using FR6 lithium AA batteries. A Using AA Batteries The MB-D11 takes one EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion battery or six AA alkaline, Ni-MH, or lithium batteries (an EN-EL15 is supplied with the camera; AA batteries are available separately). Fewer pictures can be taken with AA batteries (0 321). The capacity of AA batteries drops sharply at temperatures below 20 °C (68 °F) and varies with make and storage conditions; in some cases, batteries may cease to function before their expiry date. Some AA batteries can not be used; due to their performance characteristics and limited capacity, alkaline batteries should only be used if no alternative is available and then only at warmer temperatures. The camera shows the level of AA batteries as follows: Control panel L I H (blinks) Viewfinder - d d (blinks) Description Batteries fully charged. Low battery. Ready fresh batteries. Shutter release disabled. Change batteries. U 220
