Shooting En Exposure mode This camera has different exposure modes, which can be switched using the mode dial. Rotate the mode dial while holding down the mode dial lock to change the setting. Mode dial Mode dial lock P : Program shooting The camera sets the optimum aperture value and shutter speed automatically according to the subject brightness. You can also perform program shift as needed to change the combination of aperture and shutter speed while keeping the correct EV (exposure value). A : Aperture priority shooting The camera sets the optimum shutter speed automatically for the aperture value you have selected. When you decrease the aperture value (F-number), the camera will focus within a shorter range (shallow depth of field) and produce a picture with a blurred background. Conversely, when you increase the aperture value, the camera will focus over a wider range in the forward and backward directions (more depth of field), producing a picture with clear focus throughout the image area. Before shooting, you can use the preview function to check how the background will look in your picture. Rotate the main dial or sub dial to set the aperture value.
