Useful Information Troubleshooting General use Problem The unit does not work. I cannot hear a dial tone. The indicator on the top right of the handset flashes slowly. Cause/solution L Make sure the batteries are installed correctly and fully charged (page 10). L Check the connections (page 9). L Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. L The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 35). L Confirm the telephone line cord is properly connected (page 9). L Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone service provider. L New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new messages (page 28). L New Voice Mail messages have been recorded. Listen to the new Voice Mail messages (page 33). Programmable settings Problem I cannot program items. While programming, the handset starts to ring. Cause/solution L Programming is not possible while either the base unit or another handset is being used. Try again later. L A call is being received.
