Enhanced 911 (E911) Information This phone features an embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) chip necessary for utilizing E911 emergency location services where available. When you place an emergency 911 call, your phone's GPS feature begins to gather the information necessary to calculate your approximate location. Depending on several variables, including availability and access to satellite signals, it may take up to 30 seconds or more to determine and then report your approximate location. Note: Always report your location to the 911 operator when placing an emergency call. Some designated emergency call takers, known as Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) may not be equipped to receive GPS location information from your phone. In-Call Options Pressing Options (right softkey) during a call displays a list of features you may use during the course of an active call. To select an option, press the corresponding keypad number or highlight the option and press . The following options are available through the Options menu: Warning! Due to higher volume levels, do not place the phone near your ear during monitor use. ⅷ (1) Speaker On/Off allows you to turn the speakerphone on or off. ⅷ (2) Key Mute or Key Unmute allows you to mute the key tones on your phone so the other caller cannot hear you pressing any keys on your phone. ⅷ (3) Contacts accesses the Contacts menu. 42 Section 2A: Phone Basics
