Sending a Fax by Automatic Dialing 2. Sending Documents Searching for an auto-dial number If you don't remember the Rapid Key or Speed Dial number in which you have programmed a particular fax number or E-mail recipient, you can search for the number by following the steps below. Once you have found the number, you can dial and transmit the loaded document by simply pressing the START key. (Note: To search for an E-mail recipient, your fax must be connected to your computer.) 1 Load the document(s). • SEND READY will appear in the display. • Set the resolution and/or contrast if desired. 2 Press the HOLD/SEARCH key. RESOLUTION HOLD/ SEARCH 3 Press 1 to search for an auto-dial number, or 2 to search for an E-mail recipient. AUTO-DIAL E-MAIL 1 or 2 4 Enter the first letter of the stored name by pressing the appropriate number key (the key below the marked letter) one or more times until the letter appears in the display. If the name begins with a special character or number, press 1 (only for auto-dial numbers). ABC DEF 123 GHI JKL MNO 456 PQRS TUV WXYZ 789 0 ♦ If you don't remember the first letter, go to Step 5 (you will scroll through the list from the beginning). ♦ If a name wasn't stored (for an auto-dial number), press 0. Searching for an auto-dial number
If you don’t remember the Rapid Key or Speed Dial number in which
you have programmed a particular fax number or E-mail recipient,
you can search for the number by following the steps below. Once you
have found the number, you can dial and transmit the loaded
document by simply pressing the
START
key. (Note: To search for an
E-mail recipient, your fax must be connected to your computer.)

Load the document(s).
SEND READY will appear in the
display.
Set the resolution and/or contrast if
desired.

Enter the first letter of the stored
name by pressing the appropriate
number key (the key below the
marked letter) one or more times until
the letter appears in the display. If the
name begins with a special character
or number, press
1
(only for auto-dial
numbers).
If you don’t remember the first letter, go to Step 5 (you will scroll
through the list from the beginning).
If a name wasn’t stored (for an auto-dial number), press
0
. This will
cause numbers, not names, to appear when you scroll.
