English Cleaning the Air Filter Dirty air filters reduce engine power, increase fuel consumption and make starting more difficult. If there is a noticeable loss of engine power N Set the choke lever to }. 1 N Loosen the screws (1). 3 9926BA013 KN N Remove and check the filter element (3) - replace if dirty or damaged. N Fit the filter in the filter housing. N Fitting the filter cover Machines with "cover plate kit" for winter operation The filter (3) consists of a synthetic fabric element, see also "Winter operation". N Knock the filter (3) out on the palm of your hand or blow it clear with compressed air from the inside outwards. In case of stubborn dirt or sticky filter fabric: N Wash the filter in a clean, nonflammable solution (e.g. warm soapy water) and then dry. Always replace a damaged filter. Engine Management Exhaust emissions are controlled by the design of the fundamental engine parameters and components (e.g. carburation, ignition, timing and valve or port timing) without the addition of any major hardware. 9926BA014 KN 2 N Remove the filter cover (2).
