12 − Tempo and MIDI Using the metronome Use the CLICK key above the transport keys to turn metronome output ON and OFF. When ON, it operates according to the selected metronome mode. ªª In FREE mode A click is output according to the tempo and time signature set on the FREE METRONOME screen. The CLICK indicator flashes red on the first beat (accent) of each bar, and flashes green on the other beats. FREE METRONOME screen 1 Press and hold the CLICK key to open the FREE METRONOME screen. NOTE The FREE METRONOME screen does not appear if the metronome mode is set to anything other than FREE or if the SMF player is ON (see "SMF playback" on page 95). ªª In REC mode or REC&PLAY mode During recording in REC mode, or during recording or playback in REC&PLAY mode, a click is output according to the tempo and time signature set on the TEMPO MAP screen or based on an SMF. During click output, the CLICK indicator flashes red on the first beat (accent) of each bar, and flashes green on the other beats. When there is no click output, the CLICK indicator lights orange. 2 Set the tempo with the TEMPO item between 20 and 250 BPM. 3 Set the time signature with the TIME SIG. item. 92 TASCAM 2488neo
