11-Messages The following is a list of the popup messages that might appear on the DR-05 under certain conditions. Refer to this list if one of these popup messages appears and you want to check the meaning or determine a proper response. Message File Name ERR Dup File Name File Not Found Non-Supported Battery Empty I/O Too Short File Not Found PLAYLIST Meaning and response The DIVIDE function would cause the file name to exceed 200 characters. The DIVIDE function adds "_a" or "_b" to the end of the file name. Before choosing the DIVIDE function, connect the unit to a computer and edit the file name to less than 198 characters. The DIVIDE function would cause the file name to be the same as that of an existing file. The DIVIDE function adds "_a" or "_b" to the end of the file name. Before choosing the DIVIDE function, connect the unit to a computer and edit the file name. The file added to the playlist cannot be found or a file could be damaged. Please check the file in question. The audio file is not a supported format. Please see "9-Connecting with a Computer" for file formats that this unit can use. The battery is almost out of power. Replace the AA batteries. The IN and OUT points are too close together. Reset the IN and OUT points with at least 1 second between them. The file in the Playlist cannot be found. Please confirm that the file is still in the Music Folder. No PLAYLIST PLAYLIST Full No files have been added to the Playlist. Add a file to the Playlist or change the play mode to something besides PLAYLIST. The playlist is full. You cannot add more than 99 tracks to the Playlist. 98 TASCAM DR-05

The following is a list of the popup messages that might appear on the DR-05 under certain
conditions. Refer to this list if one of these popup messages appears and you want to check the
meaning or determine a proper response.

File Name ERR
The DIVIDE function would cause the file name to exceed 200 characters. The DIVIDE
function adds "

” to the end of the file name. Before choosing the DIVIDE

The DIVIDE function would cause the file name to be the same as that of an existing

File Not Found
The file added to the playlist cannot be found or a file could be damaged. Please
check the file in question.
Non-Supported
The audio file is not a supported format. Please see "9–Connecting with a Computer"
for file formats that this unit can use.
Battery Empty
The battery is almost out of power. Replace the AA batteries.
I/O Too Short
The IN and OUT points are too close together. Reset the IN and OUT points with at
least 1 second between them.
File Not Found
PLAYLIST
The file in the Playlist cannot be found. Please confirm that the file is still in the Music
Folder.
No PLAYLIST
No files have been added to the Playlist. Add a file to the Playlist or change the play
mode to something besides
PLAYLIST
.
PLAYLIST Full
The playlist is full. You cannot add more than 99 tracks to the Playlist.
