CAUTION: Windows records information, such as your desktop setup, during its shutdown procedure. If you do not let Windows shut down normally, details such as new icon positions may be lost. If you've used a Macintosh® or Windows 98 or 95, you'll find Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows NT Workstation is similar in many ways. Logging on to Windows NT A major difference between Windows NT and other versions of Windows is that you have to log on, even when your computer is not connected to a network. To turn on your computer and log on to Windows NT: 1 If the external diskette drive is connected to the computer, check that it is empty. 2 If a printer or other external device is connected to the computer, turn on the device.
