Installation 3.1 Inspecting the equipment If any equipment has been damaged during shipment, keep the shipping cartons and packing materials for the carrier or place of purchase and file a claim for shipping damage. If you discover damage after acceptance, file a claim for concealed damage. To file a claim for shipping damage or concealed damage: 1. File with the carrier within 15 days of receipt of the equipment; 2. Send a copy of the damage claim within 15 days to your service representative. Check the battery recharge date on the shipping carton label. If the date has passed and the batteries were never recharged, do not use the UPS. Contact your service representative. 3.2 Unpacking the cabinet • Unpacking the cabinet in a low-temperature environment may cause condensation to occur in and on the cabinet. Do not install the cabinet until the inside and outside of the cabinet are absolutely dry (hazard of electric shock). • The cabinet is heavy (see page 42). Follow Special precautions provided on page 4 and on the carton. Unpack the equipment and remove all the packing materials and shipping carton. Note: Do not lift the UPS or EBM from the front panel. Unpacking UPS and Extended Battery Module. Discard or recycle the packaging in a responsible manner, or store it for future use. Place the cabinet in a protected area that has adequate airflow and is free of humidity, flammable gas, and corrosion. Packing materials must be disposed of in compliance with all local regulations concerning waste. Recycling symbols are printed on the packing materials to facilitate sorting. Page 16 8-11kVA US_EN
