Basic Operation 2 Use the dial to select an item or value. When you select a basic function, the item corresponding to that function will be listed in the display. You can then use the dial or the number buttons [0]-[9] to select the desired item. In a display in which a category appears, selection is easy if you first use the CATEGORY [r] and [f] buttons to select the category containing the desired item, then use the dial or [+] and [-] buttons to select the item. This can be particularly handy when you have to select from a large number of voices. In most procedures described throughout this owner's manual the dial is recommended for selection simply because it is the easiest and most intuitive selection method. Please note however, that most items or values that can be selected using the dial can also be selected using the [+] and [-] buttons. 3 Start a function. This is the [START/STOP] button.
