PREPARATION ■ Troubleshooting for the auto setup procedure Before auto setup Error message Connect MIC! Cause Optimizer microphone is not connected. Unplug Phones! No Setup Menu! Memory Guard! Headphones are connected. No setup menu items have been selected. This setting is protected. AUTO SETUP Remedy • Connect the supplied optimizer microphone to the OPTIMIZER MIC jack on the front panel. • Unplug the headphones. • Select at least one setup menu item. • Remove the protection setting for auto setup (see page 68). During auto setup Press l / h to display detailed information for individual errors. Select Retry to try the auto setup procedure again. Error message Cause Remedy E01:No Front SP E02:No Sur. SP E03:No Pres. SP E04:SBR ->SBL E05:Noisy E06:Check Sur. E07:No MIC E08:No Signal E09:User Cancel E10:Internal Err Front L/R channel signal(s) is (are) not detected. • Select the front speakers by pressing SPEAKERS A or B on the front panel (or by setting AMP/SOURCE/TV to AMP, then pressing SPEAKERS A or B on the remote control). • Check the front L/R speaker connections. Only one surround channel signal is detected. • Check the surround speaker connections. Only one presence channel signal is detected. • Check the presence speaker connections. Only the surround back right channel signal is detected. • Connect the surround back speaker to the LEFT SURROUND BACK SPEAKERS terminal if you only have one surround back speaker. Background noise is too loud. • Try auto setup in a quiet environment. • Turn off noisy electric equipment like air conditioners, or move them away from this unit. Surround back speaker(s) is (are) connected, though surround L/R speakers are not. • Connect surround speakers when using (a) surround back speaker(s). The optimizer microphone was unplugged during the auto setup procedure. • Connect the supplied optimizer microphone to the OPTIMIZER MIC jack on the front panel.
