¼ If the Intelligent Key receives strong signal over an extended period of time, the battery of the Intelligent Key could quickly run down. Do not place the Intelligent Key near an electric appliance such as a television set or personal computer. ¼ Because the ignition switch is electronically controlled, if the vehicle battery is completely discharged when the ignition switch is in the LOCK position, the steering lock cannot be released or the ignition switch cannot be turned (not by the mechanical key either). ¼ In case the vehicle battery is completely discharged, make sure to recharge the vehicle battery immediately. System. Refer to "Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS) keys" earlier in this section. *2 Mechanical key is included in the Intelligent Key. Refer to "Operation with the mechanical key" later in this section for how to remove the mechanical key from the Intelligent Key. WARNING ¼ The Intelligent Key transmits radio waves that can adversely affect medical electric equipment. ¼ If you have a pacemaker, you should contact the medical equipment manufacturer to ask if it will be affected by the Intelligent Key signal. Record the key number on the key number plate/metal tag and keep it in a safe place (such as your wallet), NOT IN THE VEHICLE. A key number plate is supplied with your key. Keep the plate in a safe place. NISSAN does not record key numbers so it is very important to keep track of your key number plate. As many as 4 Intelligent Key can be used with one vehicle.
