DECToverIP® Configuration 9.2 Configuration One of the DECToverIP base stations that is installed assumes coordination and configuration of the DECToverIP functions (DECToverIP-Manager). Select a base station that has a dependable data link to the OpenCom X320. Go to the PBX Configuration: Devices: DECToverIP page in the Configurator. Click on New, to add a DECToverIP base station. Enter the MAC address of the base station that you have selected to be the DECToverIP-Manager. The MAC address of the base station is located on its type label. Enter an IP address for this base station. Confirm with Apply. Now click Change, to determine the DECToverIP-Manager. In standard cases, leave the Mode in the "IP address from the system DHCP server" setting. Select the desired DECToverIP base station with the MAC address (IP address) setting. Confirm with Apply. If the OpenCom X320's DHCP server is not configured for static address assignment, you first need to configure the IP address of the DECToverIP-Manager with the help of an additional programme (see Local IP address configuration starting on page 127). Also change the Mode setting on the PBX Configuration: Devices: DECToverIP page to "IP address configured local" and enter there the configured IP address for the DECToverIP-Manager. All other base stations can be operated using either a fixed IP address or an IP address assigned dynamically via DHCP. Please refer to the information given in the chapter entitled LAN DHCP Server starting on page 110. Note: A base station cannot be operated as a DECToverIP Manager and a WLAN-Access Point simultaneously. You should therefore use a DECToverIP base station which does not have WLAN function as your DECToverIP Manager. Create a separate entry for each DECToverIP base station and for the DECToverIP Manager on the PBX Configuration: Devices: DECToverIP page. You use these entries to determine the VoIP data compression (Profile). 121
