Features The backplane board has the following major features: • "Hot-swap" feature that allows replacement of hard drives even when the system is in full operation. • Indicates hard disk drive failure through a front panel LED. • Supports Ultra2 SCSI SCA disk drives. • SCSI ID strapping that allows LVD SCSI HDD ID configuration through the backplane switches, instead of configuring the individual drive IDs. We recommend setting the IDs on the backplane board instead of the individual drives. Refer to the following section for the location of the SCSI connector ID switches.
