3 Getting Started Using the Battery Pack Installing and Removing the Battery Pack Your Notebook PC may or may not have its battery pack installed. If your Notebook PC does not have its battery pack installed, use the following procedures to install the battery pack. To install the battery pack: 1. Open the battery compartment door by prying both tabs with your finger nails. 2. Lift the battery compartment door using the tabs. 3. Insert the battery pack at an angle as shown in the illustration. 4. Push the battery pack down lightly until it clicks into place. 5. Replace the battery compartment door until it clicks into place. To remove the battery pack: Do the reverse to remover the battery pack. Note that there are also two tabs on the battery pack which also requires lifting with your finger nails. WARNING! Never attempt to remove the battery pack while the Notebook PC is turned ON, as this may result in the loss of working data. WARNING! Only use battery packs and power adapters supplied with this Notebook PC or specifically approved by the manufacturer or retailer for use with this model. 26

Using the Battery Pack
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack
Your Notebook PC may or may not have its battery pack installed. If your Notebook PC does not have
its battery pack installed, use the following procedures to install the battery pack.
WARNING!
Only use battery packs and power adapters supplied with this Notebook
PC or specifically approved by the manufacturer or retailer for use with this model.
WARNING!
Never attempt to remove the battery pack while the Notebook PC is turned
ON, as this may result in the loss of working data.
To install the battery pack:
1.
Open the battery compartment door by prying both tabs with your finger nails.
2.
Lift the battery compartment door using the tabs.
3.
Insert the battery pack at an angle as shown in the illustration.
4.
Push the battery pack down lightly until it clicks into place.
5.
Replace the battery compartment door until it clicks into place.
To remove the battery pack:
