4. BIOS SETUP 4.6 Boot Menu 4. BIOS SETUP Boot Menu Boot Sequence The Boot menu allows you to select among the three possible boot devices listed using the up and down arrow keys. By using the or key, you can promote devices and by using the key, you can demote devices. Promotion or demotion of devices alters the priority which the system uses to search for a boot device on system power up. Configuration options: [Removable Devices] [IDE Hard Drive] [SCSI Boot Device] [Other Boot Device] Removable Device Select [Legacy Floppy] Configuration options: [Legacy Floppy] [LS120] [ZIP-100] [ATAPI MO] IDE Hard Drive Select This field allows you to select the IDE hard disk drive included in the boot sequence. Pressing [Enter] will show the product IDs of all your connected IDE hard disk drives. Other Boot Device Select [ATAPI CD-ROM Drive] Configuration options: [ATAPI CD-ROM Drive] [Network] Plug & Play O/S [No] This field allows you to use a Plug-and-Play (PnP) operating system to configure the PCI bus slots instead of using the BIOS. Thus interrupts may be reassigned by the OS when [Yes] is selected. When a non-PnP OS is installed or to prevent reassigning of interrupt settings, select the default setting of [No]. Boot Sequence
The Boot menu allows you to select among the three possible boot devices
listed using the up and down arrow keys. By using the <+> or <Space> key,
you can promote devices and by using the <-> key, you can demote devices.
Promotion or demotion of devices alters the priority which the system uses to
search for a boot device on system power up. Configuration options: [Re-
movable Devices] [IDE Hard Drive] [SCSI Boot Device] [Other Boot De-
vice]
Removable Device Select [Legacy Floppy]
Configuration options: [Legacy Floppy] [LS120] [ZIP-100] [ATAPI MO]
IDE Hard Drive Select
This field allows you to select the IDE hard disk drive included in the boot
sequence. Pressing [Enter] will show the product IDs of all your connected
IDE hard disk drives.
Other Boot Device Select [ATAPI CD-ROM Drive]
Configuration options: [ATAPI CD-ROM Drive] [Network]
Plug & Play O/S [No]
This field allows you to use a Plug-and-Play (PnP) operating system to
configure the PCI bus slots instead of using the BIOS. Thus interrupts may
be reassigned by the OS when [Yes] is selected. When a non-PnP OS is
installed or to prevent reassigning of interrupt settings, select the default
setting of [No].
