Setting Up Your Machine Connect the power cord as follows: 1 Plug the supplied power cord into the power connector on the back of the machine. 2 2 Plug the other end of the power cord into the outlet. NOTE The machine has no power switch, so its power is on as long as it is plugged in. Once connected, though, the machine still needs to warm up before you can use it. While the machine is warming up, the message appears in the LCD display: PLEASE WAIT 12/31/2004 WED 15:11 FaxOnly STANDARD NOTE If the toner cartridge has not been installed yet, the message appears in the LCD display, and the Alarm indicator flashes. In this case, install the toner cartridge. (See "Installing/Replacing the Toner Cartridge," on p. 2-16.) 2-8 Making Connections
