Setting Up Your Machine The Toner Cartridge Handling and Storing Cartridges • Do not open the drum protective shutter on the cartridge. If the drum surface is exposed to light and damaged, print 2 quality may deteriorate. • Do not stand the cartridge on end, and do not turn it upside down. If toner becomes caked in the cartridge, it may prove impossible to free it even by shaking the cartridge. • Keep the cartridge away from computer screens, disk drives, and floppy disks.
